That’s a wrap on the season after the final race at Stafford Motor Speedway last night. With the heavy rain early, we had just one brief practice then about a 3 hour gap to our feature race. The car was fantastic in practice and I pulled off about half way through. If we had run the whole practice we would most likely have went to the top of the chart.
Unfortunately the stagger moved on us in an unexpected way for the feature and the handling finally swing to the loose side for the first time all year. The car was still fast and we were able to finish 7th after starting 14th with only 1 caution in the race. Had we been out front I think we would have been really good but just too loose in traffic to show what the car really had.
Though the racing is over in 2026, the 50 has at least one more appearance. We will have the car on display at the Glastonbury Apple Harvest October 16th-18th with FEWLR. We are very exited to support FEWLR at this event and we hope to see some of you there. As a reminder, give the FEWLR app a try this winter when you are ordering your home heating oil. 🏁 ONE MORE RACE. ONE MORE CHANCE TO NOT EMBARRASS OURSELVES. 🏁 Tomorrow night is Champions Night at Stafford Speedway, and we're still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that the 2026 season is already coming to a close. What a wild ride it's been for the #50 Peter Bennett Racing / Fewlr Performance Racing team! We've had the highs (like when we didn't crash), the lows (like when we crashed), the late nights in the shop (because we crashed), and the setup changes (to prevent crashing). And through it all, this team has kept showing up, mostly because we're gluttons for punishment. The last few weeks have been a real treat, with a 3rd-place finish followed by a 2nd-place finish. And last week... well, let's just say we learned what NOT to do. But hey, the car was handling like a dream, and we learned some valuable lessons (like don't do that again). Now there's one race left. One more chance to put the #50 in Victory Lane and make all our sponsors proud. 🏆 Peter, Chris, Brett, Cody, Ray, Courtland, and everyone who's put their blood, sweat, and tears into this team have earned the right to go out there tomorrow night and show the world what we're made of. Or, you know, at least not come in last. Whatever happens, we're gonna put our big boy pants on, unload the car, and make some smart decisions (for once).
